What a wonderful book!
Sometimes I wonder who is having more fun learning. Is it 7 year old Samuel or me?
The great thing is that with our curriculum, HOD we don't just READ a book for storytime. We learn a great deal. This book can be categorized as historical fiction and during our 20 days of reading it Samuel learned about this genre, about 'setting' in literature, and focused on faith, a Godly character trait.
This is a book that I read aloud to him and then we discuss or get involved in a short activity that takes us deeper into the book. But it is never too much for Samuel. Carrie (the author of HOD) has ensured that the questions are just right.
I never thought I would enjoy a book about a horse and a boy!
